Prevent
Overcrowding

The middle school is currently over capacity and expected to grow by 500 students in five years. This bond provides a new middle school on the west side where growth is occurring.

Did you know that the high school graduating senior class has doubled since 1998? With increasing numbers of students and the addition of new programs, ROHS needs more classroom space. An expansion building will provide more classrooms while saving $200 per day in transportation costs for students to and from other sites.

The New Middle School:

  • Represents 60% of bond funding and is the largest item in the proposal
  • Can serve 1000 students
  • Will be built on the west side of I-35 where growth is expected most.

Expansions to Red Oak High School:

  • Represents 20% of the bond proposal
  • Adds Career & Technology (CTE) classrooms
  • Allows the current CTE classrooms to be used as traditional classrooms
  • Eliminates the need for daily transportation to the current CTE building at the middle school
